An Offshore Wind Resource Assessment Study Based on NCEP CFSR Data for China
The offshore wind farm is not affected by the terrain,ground vegetation,buildings and other landscape features,with the stronger and steadier wind,the higher wind power density,the smaller turbulence intensity and other advantages,compared to onshore wind farm.Therefore,offshore wind power has become the development trend of wind power industry.However,the primary challenge of developing offshore wind power is that how to accurately assess offshore wind resources,because it is difficult to get accurate,long-term,large-scale measured data at sea,it also cant use the observation data of nearshore weather stations to represent the offshore wind conditions directly.This paper based on the NCEP CFSR reanalysis data,combined with the marine observation data offered by WMO,researched the offshore wind resource assessment for China.The results show that,CFSR reanalysis data are consistent with the observed data and it can provide a reference for the China offshore wind resources assessment.China offshore wind resources distribution is got finally.
