Application Status and Performance Analysis for Small Wind Turbines in Urban Taiwan

　　As the distributed generation has been aware of an important technology for the spreading of energy generation from remote to urban areas, the relevant applications of built-environment urban small wind turbines (SWT) have then become a significant development aspect for SWT industries in the future. This study performs urban built-environment SWT foreign case studies regarding their installation regulations, notable demonstration projects, and SWT performances. It also investigates the status of domestic application, installation distributions and performances of SWT in Taiwan. The purpose of this study is to deeply look into and analyze characteristics and performances for individual case, and ultimately to form solid information bases for establishing appropriate domestic promotion programs and architecture related codes for built-environment or building-integrated SWT.
