The Application of Planet Wheel Bearing in Wind Main Gearbox

  Due to terrible operation conditions and frequent variations of input speed and load,selection of bearing types and dimensions,the prevention from slippage damage,avoidance of outer ring creeping,axial carrying capacity of cylindrical roller bearing and improving planet gear mesh have to be considered by wind gearbox manufacturers.According to the investigation of failures of planet wheel bearing,the typical failure modes of planet wheel bearings are fretting corrosion,wear,micro-crack of outer ring due to outer ring creeping,rib crack of cylindrical roller bearing,and other resultant phenomena from uneven load distribution of planet gear.Integrated bearing design,solid shoulder of planet gear and sorting of planet wheel bearings are recommended to avoid or improve the risk of possible failure.
