Wind Energy Development in China and India A Comparative Analysis of Evolution, Challenges and State Policy
Background: Rapidly depleting fossil fuels and the emerging energy crisis has encouraged the exploration of renewable energy options across the world.Amongst all the renewable energy options,wind energy is emerging as the most promising cost-effective option in recent years.Though its development is primarily taking place in the developed world,the developing world especially the Asian region is gaining significance in terms of the magnitude and the pace of wind energy development.Within the Asian region,these are primarily the two giants,viz.China and India who have made significant progress in developing the wind energy potential in recent years.
