Abusive Supervision, Leader-member Exchange and Employees Workplace Deviance --the Moderating Role of Employees Identity
This study distinguishes from social psychology, social comparison, and social identity to explain the relationship between abusive supervision and workplace deviance.Based on social exchange theory perspective, this study examines that LMX is a mediator between abusive supervision and subordinates workplace deviance.We also analyze employees identity is as moderator between abusive supervision and subordinates workplace deviance.The results from 345 sets of subordinates and their immediate supervisors matching questionnaires showed: (1) abusive supervision is positive corrected to individual-orientated and organization-orientated workplace deviance.(2) LMX is as a partialmediatorbetweenabusive supervision and individual-orientated and organization-orientated workplace deviance.(3)Employees identity moderates the relationship between abusive supervision and workplace deviance.
