A Study on How Firms Soft Power Enables Changes in Innovation--A Comparative Case Study of Western and Asian Organizations
Innovation brings about changes.This study intends to investigate how firms soft power-corporate philosophies and relationship building-enables this changing process in innovation.Besides, the relative importance of soft power for organizations in the West and Asia is examined from the perspectives of four managers who have experiences in cross-cultural management.Findings from the case study reveal that Asian organizations use more relationship building when adopting new business practices than their western counterparts.This phenomenon is tentatively explained in the conclusion and future research direction is pointed out.
