The Empirical Study of Relationship among Emotional Intelligence, Employee Emotion and Contextual Performance in the Workplace
Since the 1990s when Salovey and Mayer firstly raise the phrase Emotional Intelligence till Goleman published the book Emotional Intelligence.The concept of Emotional Intelligence became widely spread in all fields.And as the increasing of the knowledge-based employees, problems of emotion management in the workplace has been highlighted, how should employers cultivate employees Emotional Intelligence? And in different workplace, in the face of different organization situation, what employers could do to improve employees positive emotion in order to better improve personal contextual performance and organization overall performance? In this study we base on the existing literature and analysis, combine with mature measurement scale, use a questionnaire method to get data, and successfully build a multidimensional model which described relationship of Emotional Intelligence, Employees Emotion and Contextual Performance.And we collected the data from 283 student of Sichuan University MBAs, analyzed the influence of different dimensions of emotional intelligence to the surrounding performance.By this way, we intend to provide persuasive guidance and advice for the enterprise management practices.
