A Fiber-Optic Sensor System using a Balanced Sagnac Interferometer and an EDFA-Based Chaotic Fiber Ring Laser for Acoustic Detection of Partial Discharges
A fiber-optic acoustic sensor system using a chaotic fiber ring laser for generating the depolarized light and a balanced Sagnac interferometer for high-sensitivity partial discharges sensing is demonstrated.Basic operation principle is described and experimental results are presented.
