Applications of Singular Optics in Biomedicine
Optical phase singularities are features in a scattered field that possess zero intensity and the phase is undefined.Because singularities always occur in pairs of opposite topological charge, they are robust features of a scattered field that provide a variety of methods for assessing the dynamics of the scattering medium.Herein,we will discuss how the statistical behavior of the optical vortex fields can be used to gain information regarding the motion and flow of biological tissues and fluids.
