Tooth Segmentation Based on Dental Images
Tooth segmentation for the dental CT images does great help for the teeth 3D reconstruction, and it can help doctors analyze the patients teeth situation and make a reasonable medical program.Thus how to segment the teeth clearly is a problem.In this paper, some solutions are proposed to solve the problem.Firstly the binary image of the original teeth CT image is obtained through the threshold method, then the tooth area of the images is obtained by Closure operation and And operation.Secondly, the tooth area is processed with the method of local histogram equalization.Lastly, the teeth contours is acquired by way of contours detecting, and the adjacent teeth contours are segmented by convexity detecting.The experiments we have done show that these series of methods perform the tooth segmentation task well.
