Experimental Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics of Spray Cooling

  As a new kind of liquid cooling technology,spray cooling has several unique advantages such as high heat dissipation,small fluid inventory,and uniformity of heat removal,therefore becomes one of the most promising electronic cooling methods.However,the heat transfer mechanism of spray cooling is very complex,and there are many factors affecting the spray cooling performance.In this paper,the effects of volume flow,spray height and subcooling degree on spray cooling performance are studied experimentally.The results show that: for the same nozzle,increase the volume flow rate can significantly increase the heat flux; there exists an optimal height under which the heat transfer capability can be maximized; while the reduction of liquid subcooling has both advantages and disadvantages.
