Structure and evolution of the international oil trade network:A binary network analysis
While many previous analysis focused on the static, undirected version of the world trade web, here we address its full evolving, directed description of the international oil trade network. The international oil trade relations from 2002~2010 is selected as the sample data. The international oil trade network which include 180 nodes, regard oil trade relations as edges is built based on the theory of complex network. This paper studies the evolution of node degree, degree correlation coefficient and clustering coefficient in a binary network. In particular,we find that: with the development of economic globalization, more and more countries join in the international oil trade system whose capacity is increasing. It is also shows that the economic ties among countries are increasingly close and the trade of mutual dependence is become more deeply.Countries, position and labor division is more and more clear in oil trade pattern and the international oil trade network presents a more harmonious and orderly state. In all,the research displays the overall oil trade development trend and provides our country a new way of choosing suitable partners, making oil policies and reducing trade risks.
