Thermodynamic analysis of sorption refrigeration cycle

  In order to utilize heat resources of different temperatures and get refrigeration of different temperatures,various types of sorption cycles were invented.Theoretical analysis is necessary for future innovation of sorption cycles for different applications.In this paper,cycle and property are studied separately.A simplified model is given based on several assumptions neglecting the refrigerant and solution/absorbent properties in a specific cycle.A balance between the driving part and the cooling part of the sorption cycle is established through this analysis.Thermodynamic property analyses of different sorption working pairs containing lithium bromide/water,ammonia/water and zeolite/water are given and show that every working pair has its own pressure rising ability in the sorption cycle which is decided by the slope of its saturation temperature verse temperature line.For sorption cycles working under different generation/desorption temperatures and constant condensation-sorption temperature,two implementation methods can be adopted considering the cycle balance.The first one is to adopt the simplest single effect cycle and change its evaporation temperature.Different working pairs are needed in this process.The second one is to change the refrigerant flow rate ratio between desorption and evaporation processes under a fixed evaporation temperature which can be realized by adopting different sorption cycles.Several research advices are given based on these analyses.
