Parametric analysis of a novel auto-cascade ejector refrigeration cycle driven by low grade thermal energy
A novel auto-cascade ejector refrigeration cycle is proposed to obtain lower refrigeration temperature, which combines ejector refrigeration cycle and auto-cascade refrigeration principle. In this novel cycle,a generator,an ejector and a solution pump replaced the compressor used in single-stag e compression auto-cascade refrigeration cycle. The mixed refrigerant R600a/R32 is used in the cycle, and the mathematical models for calculating the performance of the cycle are established.Parametric analysis is conducted to examine the effects of the key thermodynamic parameters on the performance of the novel cycle. The theoretical results indicate that the new cycle can achieve-30℃ refrigeration temperature. The results also show that the condensing temperature, the pressure ratio of the ejector and the purification concentration of R32 from the top of phase separator have significant effects on the performance of the novel cycle. The novel cycle shows its potential in using low grade thermal energy to obtain lower refrigeration temperature for the ejector refrigeration cycle.
