Experimental Study on Performance of a Cascading Adsorption Facility Driven by Low-temperature
A test-facility was founded in this paper to make experimental research in the characteristic of a two-stage adsorption chiller both at the freezing condition and air-conditioning condition.On the basis of establishing experiment device,the influence of evaporation temperature,ambient temperature,heat source temperature,adsorption time and desorption time has been studied.Evaporator inlet temperature is controlled at the range of-15 to 12oC.There are two different composite adsorbents developed by the matrix of expanded natural graphite are filled in different adsorbent beds.Adsorption rate is small but changes little at the condition of evaporator inlet temperature lower than-5oC,but it is just the opposite when the temperature is higher than 0oC.The cycle time which includes the adsorption/desorption time and resorption time is at the range of 17 to 48 min.The minimum and maximum adsorption time is 8,29 min,respectively.But the resorption time has a small change range of 7~19 min.The influence of evaporating temperature is not as significant as that of the regeneration temperature.The coefficient of performance(COP)and cooling power of the system are obtained through experiment.When the evaporation temperature is about-16.3oC and the condensation temperature is about 35.1oC,the minimum COP can reach to 0.09 and the cooling power is about 0.77kW.
