Experimental investigation on a novel temperature and humidity independent control air conditioning system under heating condition
Experimental investigation on a novel hybrid solid desiccant heat pump system is conducted in this paper. The system is constituted of a novel solid desiccant heat pump(SDHP)to deal with the latent load and a variable refrigerant flow air conditioning system(VRF)to handle the sensible load, which is a temperature and humidity independent control(THIC)air conditioning system. In order to verify actual performance of this novel joint desiccant heat pump and VRF system(JDVS),Operation performance of this system is tested and compared with common adopted joint heat recovery ventilator(HRV)and VRF system(JHVS).These two types of hybrid systems are installed in the same office room and operated for the adjacent day during the whole winter(December 2012 to March 2013)in Shanghai. From the experiment results,it is found that the JDVS can keep indoor humidity ratio at about 50%RH,and 100%indoor condition provided by JDVS falls in winter thermal comfort zone in detail. On the contrary,JHVS can increase the indoor humidity ratio to around 30%,and only 38.5%indoor condition falls in winter comfort zone.In addition,JDVS consumes daily average of 19.3kWh and the COP is 4.5,while JHVS consumes average of 21.1kWh and the COP is 3.1.
