Study on Behavior for Small Distributed PV System in China
This paper depicts work undertaken to explore the potential negative impacts of small distributed PV system for urban power grid in China.Additionally a utility control strategy is proposed through the analysis of the actual output of the photovoltaic system.The output characteristics of PV system in three typical weather conditions are given a demonstration and analyzed including clear day,cloudy day and somber day.The results have indicated that the output of PV system is unstable and could cause significant power quality issues for urban low-power grid,such as voltage rise,current swing,and current harmonic.Control strategies suggested are: a PV system monitoring program,reliable communication system and smart control mode.Through effective management the risks of small distributed PV system can be reduced and network benefits are fully realized.
