Analysis on CO2 Mitigation Potential, Cost, and Benefit of wind power in China
As the world largest GHG emission country,Chinas government has set an ambitiously target and instituted serous policies to encourage wind power development.This paper investigates Chinas wind power resources,and does cost-benefit analysis of wind power bases in China by 2020.The results show the total CO2 mitigation potential of wind power will reach more than 300 million tons of CO2,with an average CO2 mitigation cost of about 270 RMB per ton of CO2 mitigation.Besides that,200 GW of wind power installation by 2020 could substitute for 100 million tce(tons of coal equivalents)of coal consumption,and result in 22.5 million tons of SO2 mitigation,1.5 million ton of PM-10 mitigation,and bring 1.4 to 5.6 million green job opportunities.
