Performance of a lignite fired 600MWe thermal power unit integrated with fluidized bed dryer
The high moisture content in lignite leads to lower overall thermal efficiency of power plants.Drying techniques are usually incorporated in the lignite fired power plants to increase the plant efficiency and economics, because drying can offer lower thermal losses and lower flue gas temperature.Fluidized bed drying is one of the most promising techniques. In this paper,a lignite fired 600MWe thermal power unit system integrated with a fluidized bed dryer was configurated and the plant was simulated. The fluidized bed drying system was a fluidized bed dryer with waste heat utilization(Wirbelschicht Trocknung mit interner Abw?rmenutzung,abbr.WTA).The technical performance and efficiency of the plant were calculated using a proposed model based on Equivalent Enthalpy Drop Method(EEDM).In the unit plant integrated with WTA,the entire plant efficiency increased by 5.93%with the lignite moisture content drying from 40%to 15%.Compared to raw lignite(25℃)fired power plants, the standard coal consumption is 268.64g/(kW·h),dropping by 16.93g/(kW·h).
