EXERGOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF A CEMENT 1 PRODUCTION PLANT
The optimization of energy systems is crucial for a rational use of natural and economic resources and for minimizing their adverse effects on the environment.Methodologies to quantify and improve the performance of plants that consume large quantities of energy are being used to reach this goal. This study shows the methodology used to assess exergetic and monetary costs of a Mexican cement plant, using the Theory of Exergetic Cost. Moreover,it explains the effect of using different kind of raw meal on the exergetic costs of the system by using TAESS as a software tool.Exergoeconomic analysis allows us to identify the most relevant economical system components and provides information about possibilities for design improvements.
