Life Cycle Energy, Environment, Economic Assessment of Electric Car in China
Life cycle energy,environment,and economic(EEE)assessment model of conventional gasoline(CG),conventional diesel(CD),and electric car(EC)were established in this paper.And,life cycle energy,environment,and cost assessment of CD,CG and EC were carried out.The assessment result showed that compared with CG,EC achieves a little lower well-to-wheel(WTW)total energy consumption by 26%,lower WTW fossil energy consumption by 30%,and lower WTW HC emission by 97%,CO emission by 96%,greenhouse gases(GHGs)emission by 23%,but higher about 18%,74%,and 122%WTW PM,NOX,and SOX emissions respectively.Moreover,it is important to know that compared with CD,EC also achieves a little lower WTW total energy consumption,fossil energy consumption by 12%and 17%respectively,lower about 89%,90%,60%,32%,and 13%WTW HC,CO,PM,NOX,and GHGs emission respectively,except a litter higher SOX emission by 15%for 75%of the grid electricity comes from coal in China.And,it is important to know that the operating cost of EC is lower 68%than that of CG,59%than that of CD.Therefore,EC should be one of potential alternative car in China.Meanwhile,all of the EEE indicators would be better if the operating electricity come from renewable source,such as hydropower,nuclear,biomass.
