Structural and regional variations of natural resource production in China based on exergy
In the present paper,natural resource production of China during 2000-2010 is investigated based on exergy as a unified indicator to show the structural and regional variation of this countrys resource supply.Using exergy,different kind of resources can be added and compared together.The major natural resources China produced are divided into 5 categories: energy resources,including coal,oil,natural gas,hydropower,nuclear power; Agriculture products,including rice,wheat,and so on; forest product,means wood; and mineral products,including iron ore,copper concentrated,pyrite,bauxite,salt,zinc ore and lead ore.Total quantity and structure of resource production as well as its variations have been analyzed on both country level and province level.After that,30 provinces have been classified based on their characteristics in resource production by the method of cluster analysis.The result shows that the total amount of Chinas resource production has increased substantially; major resource production districts have changed a lot during our research period; regional disparities in the structure of resource supply are tremendous.
