Difficulties and Strategies of Directional Well Trajectory Control in Xinjiang XinKen Region

  Geological conditions in Xinjiang XinKen region are complicated,different interbeds and pressure systems are existed in the same open hole section; reservoir burial depth is deep,open hole is long,torque and drag are high in the drilling process,natural deflecting capacity of the high and steep structure formation is strong,the tool face of the downhole bent housing motor is difficult to control,and it is also difficult to control well trajectory.Specific to this situation,on-site process of the first directional well 601 well in this region is referenced in this paper,BHA used in curve section of this well is theoretically analysed,which shows that conventional BHA can not meet the deflecting requirements; the problem of the trajectory influenced by stratigraphic seriously during drilling in hold angle section is analysed,and the natural deflecting of formation law is summarized.In this paper,the specific strategy is given to solve the entirety trajectory control difficulty of deep directional well in this region.This strategy can ensure deep directional well trajectory control and meet requirements in Xinjiang XinKen region,providing a successful experience for reducing development cost and shortening drilling period.
