CFD MODELING OF FLOW BOILING IN A SEPARATE THERMOSYPHON

　　In the present work, a two-phase flow of ammonia in the evaporation section of a separate thermosyphon of inner diameter 65mm was modeled.The volume of fluid (VOF) model was used to consider the interaction between the gas and liquid and a flow boiling model of ammonia has been presented simultaneously.The flow patterns were studied and a comparison of the heat transfer coefficient between the numerical computations and Gungor-Winterton correlation was found to be in good agreement.
