PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF FLAT HEAT PIPE RECEIVER WITH THERMAL STORAGE IN SOLAR POWER TOWER PLANT

  The working conditions of solar receiver in solar power plant are 300-1000kW/m2 in heat flux and 650-1300 ℃ in temperature.This paper presents a new type solar receiver which combined flat heat pipe technology with thermal storage.Since it has the advantages of high transfer performance, ideal isothermal property and effective thermal storage, it has been a leading candidate for solar receiver.A computational simulation of flow and heat transfer performance was carried out, and the non-uniform sun radiation and varied thermal properties of molten salt were analyzed.On the basis, the effect of different geometric parameters on cold side was studied.The results show that heat pipe receiver with thermal storage can effectively improve the overall heat efficiency and avoid the phenomena of local overheating and heat spot.This research will provide references for flat heat pipe receiver design and application.
