Improved Circularly Polarized Bandwidth in Dielectric Resonator Antenna for L-band Satellite Application
Since the introduction of dielectric resonator antennas in 1983,great deal of research has been done to improve the antenna characteristics,including physical dimensions,bandwidth,gain and radiation pattern.In this paper,a new configuration for circularly polarized Dielectric Resonator Antenna(DRA)is presented.The idea is to use two different dielectric materials and parasitic patches to obtain bandwidth improvement of the axial ratio and reflection coefficient properties(S11).In the operating frequency range of this antenna,S11 is less than-10dB in which the axial ratio is less than 3dB around the main direction of the antenna.
