Motion Analysis and Weather Window Selection for Towing of Nan Hai Tiao Zhan Semi-submersible Platform
Towing motion performance of Nan Hal Tiao Zhan semi-submersible platform is analyzed by using SESAM program, which is based on Morisons equation and 3D potential theory.According to the design maximum allowable roll or pitch amplitude of 6 degrees, the maximum allowable significant wave heights are determined for a range of wave period with a cyclic iterative method.And the weather widow suitable for towing is recommended on consideration the limited sea states,climate characteristic of South China Sea and the whole update modification schedule.
