Gas Hydrate Problems during Deep Water Gas Well Test
Gas hydrate is an essential problem which must be considered in deepwater well testing.Pressure and Temperature are two key factors of hydrate formation.Based on deepwater testing procedure, the flowing and heat transfer equations were established on flowing test and shut in conditions, and the flowing was also simulated at throttle position.Temperature and pressure distribution intesting pipes were obtained. On this basis, the hydrate formation sections in pipes were predicted. The results indicated that at the stage of circulating test, gas production is an important factor to hydrate formation, the less output, the larger hydrate generation region, yet near the throttle in pipes, hydrate is easily formed at large production due to the throttle effect.Another indication of the result is that serious hydrate forming problem may take place as the high pressure and low temperature at the stage of shut in.Based on the results, three inhibitor injection positions were put forwarded: mud line, 650 meters below mud line and choke positions.
