The Effect of Locking Surface Angles on the Mechanical Advantage of Subsea Connector
The devices of subsea production system are all connected by subsea connectors.Its important to analyze the locking mechanism in the basic design.Through the freebody diagrams and simple friction theory,the mechanical advantage related to coefficient of sliding friction and locking surface angles is developed.It show the effect of the different locking surface on the mechanical advantage.It provides significant reference on the design of the locking structure of subsea connector.
