ORDER RELEASE METHOD IN STEEL PLANT BASED ON WORKLOAD CONTROL

To solve the order release problem in the steel plant, a model describing the time and load constraints in steel production is proposed. The forward finite loading mechanism (FFL) and backward finite loading mechanism (BFL) are modified to solving the problem, where jobs released should fit the due date constraints and workload constraints simultaneously. If jobs failed to release, constraints will be loosened according to their priority. The earliest due date (EDD) rule was used to dispatch the released jobs. Then the release time bounds of the jobs at other stage are updated by constraint propagation. The performances on the tardiness control and workload control of the steel order release methods are testified by experimenting on the factors including the total demand for the orders, variances of orders demand, due dates, and the workload norm predefined.
