AN ANALYSIS OF INFLUENTIAL FACTORS FOR INNOVATION AND SUPPLY CHAIN COLLABORATION:THE CASE OF THAI AUTOMOTIVE AND ELECTRONICS INDUSTRIES
Automotive and electronics industries are the major contribution to Thailand economics for the past 10 years.There are many Japanese and European car assembles factories located in Thailand as well as major part suppliers.Moreover, there are the hard disk clusters with major hard disk brand.The purpose of this study is to investigate the influential factors within the supply chain of these two industries that stimulate the occurrences of innovation.In addition, it is important to see how the collaboration between firms induces the innovation.The methodology of the study is to conduct the survey and conduct the statistical analysis to understand the influences of various factors.From the in-depth literature review, the major factors that will be considered are Research and Development (R&D), technology competence, government policy, in-house development, competitor, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), international trade and organisational learning.The questionnaire surveys were distributed among the two industries and there were 175 responses which we will discuss in terms of the descriptive statistic.
