AN APPLICATION OF DOMAIN SPECIFIC SIMULATION ENVIRONMENT FOR AN INLAND LOCKAGE OPERATIONS SYSTEM
This paper is aimed at illustrating the methodology developed for developing domain specific simulation environments (DSSEs).The methodology is an integration of conceptual simulation modeling (CSM), contextualised documenting, ontology mapping, simulation block building, and visual subnetwork modeling. The main purpose of applying the methodology is to facilitate simulation developers in handling some critical issues that distort effectiveness and efficiency of their simulation models. To illustrate the use of the methodology, an inland lockage operations system on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River is taken as a case study.
