Generation of Diffraction-compensated Beams through a Phase Plate
We present an alternative method to generate non-diffracting beams. It consists in focusing a gaussian beam in the vicinity of a circular phase plate which transmission coefficient exceeds 90%.The latter is a binary diffractive optical element which introduces a phase shift(Φ)in the central part of the incident beam. The dephasing area, which is circular, consists of a thin film of ITO(Indium Tin Oxide)disk of diameter D deposited on a silica substrate.Using our set-up,the diffracted beam can then be collimated to generate a diffraction-compensated beam.
