SURFACE PLASMON POLARITON BASED PHOTONIC INTEGRATED DEVICES
This paper reports the research on surface plasmon polariton(SPP)based photonic integrated devices.We realized SPP waveguides with very low transmission loss of 0.67dB/mm.By developing a kind of hybrid coupler structure consisted by a SPP waveguide and a dielectric waveguide,a high performance TM/TE polarization splitter was realized with pure TM mode output,and an integrated sensor was demonstrated with rather high sensitivity and the ability for ultra-thin layer sensing.
