RAYLEIGH CROSSTALK REDUCTION BASED ON OPTICAL FILTERING AND MODIFIED DUO-BINARY CODING IN WDM-PONS
We propose and demonstrate a bidirectional carrier-distributed WDM-PON scheme with enhanced tolerance to impairments induced by Rayleigh backscattering.By using the combination of a band-stop optical filter and modified duo-binary coding,the sensitivity of the novel system has increased by 8-dB with less than 2-dB sensitivity penalties when the effectiveness of the Rayleigh backscattering crosstalk is very high(SCR=11.13-dB).
