Alloy 740H Component Manufacturing Development

　　Alloy 740H was developed specifically for use in A-USC power plants.This alloy has been intensively evaluated in collaborative programs throughout the world,and the key properties have been verified and documented.In 2011 the alloy was approved for use in welded construction under ASME Code Case 2702.At present,alloy 740H is the only age-hardened nickel-base alloy that is ASME code approved.The emphasis for A-USC materials development is now on verification of the metalworking industrys capability to make the full range of mill product forms and sizes and to produce fittings and fabrications required for construction of a power plant.This paper presents the results of recent developments in component manufacture and evaluation.
