Effect of Heattreatment on the Microstructure and Properties of Cold-worked Inconel 740H Boiler Tubes

The effect of the pre-aging heattreatment on microstructures,the hardness,tensile strength and creep properties of Inconel 740H ha been investigated.The carbides precipitated along the grain boundaries,and γ-Ni3(Al,Ti)was suppressed during the pre-aging at 850℃-1010℃.As the pre-aging temperature increased,the hardness and tensile strength decreased.The material with 11% strain and normal heattreatment showed shorter creep life than the non-strained one,the pre-aging heattreatment before the cold working and final aging restored the creep properties.
