Experimental Study of Combined High and Low Cycle Fatigue Test of Turbine Blade Material

  The combined high and low cycle fatigue(CCF)of turbine blade is one of the main failure modes of aero-engine.In order to study the CCF property of turbine blade material,modifications were conducted based on the fixture for the combined fatigue test of turbine blade to design a new fixture of CCF with simulation samples on test-bed.New fixture was tested using samples of certain titanium alloy which was modified based on the testing results and FEM: A flexible assembly comprised of a plate-form spring and bending vibration splint was added to improve the bending rigidity of the fixture; simulation sample was designed combined with the shape of turbine blade.Testing results indicate that the bending rigidity of fixture is decreased by adding the flexible assembly; the fracture sites of simulation sample are consistent with the FEM result; the load pattern of CCF can be accomplished with new fixture and simulation samples,which provide the experimental foundation for test design for the CCF of turbine blade materials.
