Numerical Investigation on Local Heat Transfer Characteristic of Impingement/Effusion Cooling With Middle Plates
The local heat transfer characteristic of the effusion plate in the impingement/effusion cooling with presence of perforated oblique middle plates were numerically investigated in the present study.Impingement distance of 2.5-7.5 hole diameter, impingement hole pitch to diameter ratio of 2.5 to 7.5 were used at impingement Reynolds numbers of 2500 to 7500.The diameter and position of the middle hole on the middle plate were also adjusted to study the effects of second oblique impingement. The results show that the region of high heat transfer extends with the decrease of the impingement hole pitch and impingement distance. The interaction of the second oblique impingement and the vortex flow in the cavity where the effusion hole located is mainly influenced by the variation of the impingement distance. The high heat transfer region induced by the second oblique impingement extends with the decreasing distance between middle hole and effusion plate.
