Simulation on the Combustion System Work Process for Internal Combustion Engine by Using KIVA-3V
In order to simulate the combustion system work process for an internal combustion engine accurately, the KIVA-3V software is used to generate the combustion system meshes.During the process of mesh processing, the K3PREP generator is used by the block-structured technology to generate the 60° computational meshes of the combustion system based on the modified 4JB1 engine.Three steps are included in mesh generation.First, calculation area is divided into several blocks.Second, these blocks are numbered and defined by the structure parameters separately. At last, the computational meshes are generated by patching blocks together in a certain order.Variables such as cylinder pressure, cylinder temperature,NOX and SOOT emission are predicted and analyzed by using single injection strategy. The results show that the K3PREP generator can provide a good foundation for the subsequent of internal combustion engine simulation, and It was found that the production of NOX begins from the moderate burning period, reaches a peak quickly and keep constant. The production of SOOT is mainly in the late of fast burning period to the moderate burning period and most of the SOOT is oxidized.
