Dynamic Characteristics of a Horizontal Axis Washing Machine Caused by Asymmetric Location of Center of Mass
This paper discussed dynamic characteristics of the spin drying process of a horizontal axis washing machine whose tub assemblys center of mass does not coincide with the geometric center of the system.For doing this,a planar model considering asymmetric location of the assemblys center of mass was derived for a horizontal axis washing machine with a planar suspension system.Based on simulation results,the tubs vibration along its axial direction was observed and explained by analyzing centrifugal forces acting on the system at the steady-state.The influences of the asymmetric location of the center of mass on the trajectory of the washing machine and the vibration isolation performance of the suspension system were studied.
