The Time-varying Characteristics Analysis of Inductance Gradient during Launch Process of Electromagnetic Rail
Inductance gradient is one of the important parameters to influence efficiency of electromagnetic rail launcher,which is mainly controlled by geometrical parameters of the rail and waveforms of the current.So inductance gradient has the characteristics of time-varying.On the basis of Biot-Savart Law,considering both the influence of the rail structure parameters and the current skin depth,a theoretical expression of the rail time-varying inductance gradient during launch process of electromagnetic rail was derived by a magnetic field calculation theory of uniform plane current.Then the curve of the time-varying inductance gradient was got.Based on the finite element electromagnetic simulation software,the correctness of the theoretical calculation was verified.The results show that the rail inductance gradient during launching is nonlinear reduced.Finally,contrastively analyzed the electromagnetic force caused by the inductance gradient obtained by the calculation in this paper and the constant inductance gradient,results indicate that the inductance gradient calculation results given in this paper is closer to the actual situation.The research work provides reference for the dynamic analysis of the armature in rail gun.
