Study on Polar Coordinate Method for Measuring Involute Tooth Profile Error
Large gear measurement has the problem of long tangential generating length and guide rail length,which is a difficulty of gear measurement.The polar coordinate method is described as using the radial benchmark and rotating benchmark to generate involute.The method takes the measure of involute tooth profile error without using tangential benchmark,which can effectively solve the problem of large gear measurement.On the basis of involute forming principle,it is established the involute mathematical model on polar coordinate.Based on the model,it is obtained the calculation method of tooth profile error on polar coordinate.And then making a brief analysis about the precision of measuring method.The analysis shows that the measuring method is suitable for the mid-precision gear measurement and the polar coordinate method provides support for on-machine measurement technology of large gear grinding.
