Fatigue Damage Analysis of a Commercial Vehicle Cab Based on Virtual Iteration
To solve the problem of fatigue cracking failure occurring in a commercial vehicle cab,a durability analytical method integrated with virtual iteration was proposed in this paper.Key technology for this is the combination of virtual test method and physical testing.Firstly,a rigid and flexible cab-frame model was built. Then the cab acceleration signals of some particular positions were collected by the road test, based on which the loading spectrum was obtained by means of virtual iteration method(VIM).Afterwards, fatigue damage analysis was conducted on cab by means of inertia relief. The result indicated the components which are mostly likely to crack during using were around the mounting holes of the middle and rear suspensions as well as the corners of the B-pillars.Finally,the fatigue life simulation was compared with the real vehicle durability test. The results had a good accordance, and verified the rationality and feasibility of this method.
