Analysis of the Barrel Life Related to Design Parameter Based on the Response Surface Method
Gun barrel suffers from heavy impacting load resulted high temperature,high pressure and high-speed gunpowder gases in the shooting process,leading to bore geometry and size changes,so barrel life is severely affected.Taking a certain kind of gun barrel as research target,geometrical parameters,material parameters and load parameters of gun barrel were considered as input random variables.By means of hybrid simulation method(combined FEM,Monte-Carlo with response surface simulation method),we take barrel design parameter related working life for analysis.First we built a kind of finite element model to get a random sample,then fit the samples to give a response surface model expression associated with working life,and use the expression instead of the finite element model to generate Monte-Carlo sample,At last,we take the sample for sensitivity analysis.Then we can get the improved design.The analysis results showed that this method has a small amount of calculation and high fitting precision.
