Ontology based Goal and Task Allocation for Autonomous Agents

Effective operations of law enforcement agencies require timely decisions to perform tasks to counter the effect of terrorism.By employing teamwork coordination among software agents, system effectiveness is enhanced to make task and goal allocation in the best possible way.To make agents understand the semantics and achieve shared mental model of capabilities,we have employed ontology to formally describe the concepts of domain and perform semantic matchmaking using reasoning capabilities of ontology. The proposed framework utilizes ontology, fuzzy based decision making and utility metrics of capability, distance and priority to make efficient task and goal allocation among autonomous agents in a distributed environment.
