Micro-geometry Modification for Helical Gears With Mesh Misalignment
A flexible multibody dynamic model for a high-speed helical gears in a MW level wind turbine gearbox is established to investigate the effects of mesh misalignment and modifications on gear mesh performances. The mesh misalignment of the gear pair is computed and its effects on transmission performances are investigated.Quantitative relationships between the mesh misalignments and the load distribution coefficient, the maximum load per unit length and the transmission error fluctuation are established through numerical computation.A combined micro-geometry modification strategy is proposed with the aim of reducing negative effects of the misalignment on the mesh performances. The modification effectiveness is validated in that it can improve the load distribution status and decrease the fluctuation of transmission error.
