Design and Analysis of Electric Wheel Drive System for Trailing Arm Suspension
The electric wheel drive systems for both single and double trailing arm suspensions with the motor placed on the frame of the car are proposed,with the structures for both suspension types analyzed.For wheel-drive-based single trailing arm,the mathematical expression of central distance variation between driving and driven pulleys is deduced.Then effects of two design variables,the perpendicular distance between motor center and single-trailing arm and the swing limit angle,on the central distance variation are discussed.Feasibility of the structure is further verified by an application case.As for double trailing arm,the parameter model is first established,based on which optimal parameters are achieved in reasonable ranges with the aid of Matlab.Meanwhile,effects of the structure parameter variations in double trailing arm on the optimal layout position of the motor are analyzed.
