Statics Analysis of Structural Beam with Coupled Joints Based on Boundary Element Method
Joints of machine tool are the key factors for performance of mechanical system, which influence on the static, dynamic and thermal behaviors of machine tool greatly.A novel static characteristic analysis method of basic structural beam by organically combining joint theory and boundary element method (BEM) is presented.Based on joint theory, the non-linear relationship between contact stress, contact deformation and contact stiffness of joint surface is derived, the coupled systematic analysis model considering joint contact stiffness between boundary beam and beam as well as beam and boundary is established,in which joint contact stiffness is converted into sub structure of BEM analysis and combined with other elements in the mechanical system. In iterative process, the joint contact stiffness is employed as decoupling convergence condition, which solves the couple problem of contact status in joint surfaces of mechanical system. The analyzing results show that it is very simple and easy in dealing with flexible joint and has great advantage for predicting behavior of whole machine accurately.
