Band Gap Design for One-dimensional Periodic Rod with Two Components
One-dimensional periodic rod is simplified to one-dimensional periodic oscillators and its band gaps are calculated.As an example,dispersion curves equation of one-dimensional periodic structure with three oscillators is deduced and turned to be dimensionless.It is proved by singularity theory that the topology of the dispersion curves does not change with the various mass and stiffness parameters.Then the equations of start and stop frequencies of the bands are presented.The method of band gap design is gained consequently.The design is proved to be conservative and realizable.The method may provide the reference for band gap design of the photonic and phononic crystals.
